My little guy turned 3 a couple of days ago. Apart from the usual birthday celebrations, I also had something else in mind.

He is 3 now. How is his development? All parents think about the development of their children every now and then. Is there a concrete way to answer this question?

Am I teaching him enough? Is he having fun? Is he as good as any other 3 year old? How do I help him get better at something?

My first step was to review the milestones of a 3 year old. Next step was to make a plan to help him achieve the ones he was missing. Also help him achieve a few others which I thought he should learn.

Here is the plan I came up with:

Since we both are working parents, it is very easy for us to lose track of his actitivities, therefore we also assigned a specific time for each activity so that it becomes a routine.

Boxes marked in green are the days we do a certain activity. The activities in Alphabet recognition, numbers, role play keep changing every week , 4 such weekly plans are prepared in prior .

Finally , activities are revisited every month to see if any skill needs to be removed because it has been achieved or any new skill needs to be added.

My favourite one here is “Know his Genius”. I absolutely love this one. At such a tender age you never know what is your child’s one special skill /talent. He /she might grow up to become a fantastic dancer, a brilliant chess player or anything you can think of. We do not know that yet. But what we do know is you can help them know it. Give them a chance to try as many things as possible , help them find his/her genius.

If your child’s birthday is coming up, I wish“Happy Birthday to the little one”, and “Happy Rose Nurturing” to you 😊
